PE
At our school, we recognise the importance of physical activity in supporting children's health, wellbeing and overall development. Through our PE curriculum, we inspire children to enjoy being active while developing the skills, confidence and resilience needed to participate in a wide range of sports and physical activities.
In the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, children develop essential fundamental movement skills, including running, jumping, throwing and catching. They are also introduced to simple game skills and tactics, learning how to work cooperatively with others and participate positively in both team and individual activities.
As children progress through the school, they build on these foundations by refining their skills and applying them in a variety of sports, including netball, tag rugby, athletics, cricket and rounders. Alongside games, all pupils develop their creativity, coordination and physical control through gymnastics and dance.
We place great emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance and respect, encouraging every child to challenge themselves, reflect on their progress and grow in confidence. We celebrate each child's achievements and recognise that every step of progress, no matter how big or small, deserves to be acknowledged.
